The finest traditional Scottish Kipper smoked naturally with no additives. Each package contains two whole kippers, skin on. This is a proper whole kipper - split down the back and hung for smoking and packed flat in a vacuum sealed pouch. Grill them for breakfast, or use your favorite recipe. Made by John Ross Jr of Aberdeen, purveyor to Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth. Gently smoked over whisky barrel chips for a delicate flaky fish you remember.

Market Pricing Subject to Change - Due to pandemic there are very few flights for perishable products from UK to USA, and United Airlines has raised our air freight from 2 British pounds per kilo to 9 British pounds per kilo. As a result we will be changing the price on all smoked fish with each delivery. We simply cannot continue to honor our pre-pandemic price.

John Ross Jr has been supplying our Smoked Kippers for the past five years. As the smokehouse awarded a Royal Warrant by Queen Elizabeth, you know they have delicious fish, smoked by master smokers. This family owned company has won many awards for Great Taste and Quality.

This is a perishable food. All orders with perishable foods must include a COLD PACK FEE of $5. Please add this item to your order.
If you are ordering perishable foods, or a combination of perishable and non-perishable products, our shipping charges are based on the value of your order and the type of products you are ordering. Please use the Shipping Costs section of the shopping cart to get the correct value for shipping. If you in the Blue states we can reach within two days via UPS Ground, you can use regular ground shipping at $16 on orders less than $150. If you live in the Orange states, you must use UPS 2nd Day Air at $40 on orders less than $150.

ALASKA & HAWAII: All orders containing perishable items shipping to Alaska and Hawaii must use UPS 2nd day air at $65 on orders less than $150.

Shipping Policy: We ship via UPS within the 48 continental states. Our goal is to get your package delivered in the right time at the lowest possible cost to you. We normally ship your order within one business day of your order.

Orders placed after 2PM EST will ship the next perishable shipping day. Perishable cheese, smoked fish, haggis and meats are only shipped on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday via Second Day Air or Two Day Ground Shipping.

Product of the UK, Scotland-still within the UK. Vacuum packed fresh (freezing seems to toughen kippers so that they no longer resemble kippers) high quality whole fish. Enjoy de-boning a kipper, a skill acquired at an early age in the UK. Before 9-11 was able to have kippers sent from the Isle of Man -,Devereau's - alas, no more - risk of perishable goods been treated by US customs as potential...... My brother, still in the UK, favors Mallaig Kippers: good , but not excellent, IMHO. Have looked at getting my sister to send Devereau's excellent kippers to me, but DHL air freight costs are prohibitive. Incredible to find a source of high quality fresh whole kippers in the US at a very reasonable price. Felicitations to Scottish Gourmet USA. Would appreciate knowing the provenance of the kippers, beyond simply Scotland.

One of the reviewers identified these as Crasters (top of the line) but not from Scotland , north of England -very close to Scotland. The code# is an EU health code, does not identify where the kippers are smoked - dearly like to know the smokery. Best way to cook is grill for approx 4 minutes with slivers of butter. Absolutely delicious. The also run, dyed fillets,need to be steamed to get rid of the salt and are still an inferior product.

Arrived still refrigerated. I am amazed at the large size and freshness of the kippers. Had one for breakfast this morning and it was nothing short of excellent! Mom (many years ago!) used to make them for my father and me, and would have been astounded at the size, although she always got the largest available in New York City. Would recommend without reservation! These were just as good as the ones I've had in London and Scotland. They don't come any better!

These kippers are FANTASTIC. mild and smoky. Skin side up on Aluminium foil with dabs of butter on top. Under thr broiler for 3 minutes. Turn carefully and add some more dabs of butter and broil for another 3 minutes. Serve skin down with grilled tomatoes, toast/butter/Marmite :-).

Having grown up in the UK Kippers were a standard part of our diet. However few people in the US have ever tried them. These kippers wee perfect. Sauteed in butter until crispy then with lots of lemon juice the perfect breakfast.

I was going through kipper withdrawal. Many may be familiar with my plight..has searched high and low for good kippers to no avail. These arrived fresh from the other side of the country and are just like the ones back home. I am so happy. These taste identical to the ones we bought at the fishmongers when I was growing up in Inverness. As was mentioned previously grilling them with dabs of butter is the best way to cook them I think. Wonderful kippers.

Absolutely loved these kippers. Not too highly salted. Cooked as soon as they thawed in butter. Came in refrigerated, two pack. Seperated them into one each. I was a bit cautious going into this and just ordered one pair as a trial but was very happy with the taste and texture of these kippers. I grew up with Manx Kippers and have missed them in the 40 years living in the States, always making sure to get some when I make the trip home. I even ate them for breakfast on the QM2 trip over as I was so impatient. Finding this supply of the real thing, not the canned wannabe's is a real treat. I will be ordering a supply for my pantry as soon as they come back in stock :-)

These kippers are exceptional. The smoke level is just right, and the fish is firm but not too dry. I've eaten kippers on both sides of the Atlantic, and on the Atlantic for that matter, for more than six decades, and these are the best. A tip of the hat, and two thumbs up!

I've been searching for a good source for Scottish kippers for a long time, and these really hit the spot. I grew up in England and became addicted there, but each of the sources I found in the U.S. either hadn't mastered the art or gave up, probably due to low demand. These kippers are just as I fondly remember, and I am on my second lot so it isn't just by chance. They are delivered quickly because they are not frozen, which is good because freezing kippers affects their taste. I cook them a bit differently than the usual recommended way: rubbed with butter, broiled for 14 minutes, and served with a squeeze of half a fresh lemon. Try it. It's good.

I order kippers whenever they are available! They arrive promptly, in great condition. I normally keep one in the fridge to eat in a day or two and freeze the others. After defrosting I cook on the gas grill for a few minutes and eat with a little buttered toast. Delicious!

Oh my goodness. I am a big kipper fan and the first thing I do when I go home is buy kippers. They are so very hard to get over here. Mine arrived yesterday and this morning I broiled and ate BOTH of them. Now I am in post parandial kipper bliss, sitting here with my pants unbuttoned and a huge smile in my face. Now these are KIPPERS. Tasty beyond words these kippers will not disappoint. The only downside is that once you taste them you will end up consuming your whole order and not even feeling guilty about it.

These are very good and hard to find not in a can. I fried them in olive oil and lemon juice. Are you supposed to eat all those smaller bones?
