5 lb. Catering Haggis - shipped frozen. Classic Scottish Sausage with lamb, onions and oatmeal.

Our same crumbly delicious haggis made from American lamb, Scottish oats, onions, a touch of beef liver and Andrew Hamilton's special spice blend - now in a 5 lb catering size. Packed in a plastic casing, this haggis is perfect for serving a large crowd, or when you need lots of haggis - like 25 lbs to feed 100 people. The plastic casing holds the contents under pressure - so please be very careful if you use this for a ceremonial haggis - as the one that skewers the plastic is bound to get some haggis in the face! We suggest steaming these haggis in a deep roasting pan with plenty of water, and aluminum foil on top to keep the steam in. If frozen, give these two hours to reheat, if thawed, 90 minutes should do it. To serve - first pierce the plastic with a fork to release the pressure, then slice open the haggis, and serve hot with mashed potatoes and turnips. Our haggis is not labeled gluten free, but it is now made with gluten free organic oats. This is a perishable food. All orders with perishable foods will include a single flat rate shipping fee of $5 in addition to the normal shipping charges.

Ingredients: Lamb meat, oatmeal, onions, beef liver and spices. Our haggis is not labelled gluten free. Due to new gluten-free inspection and labeling requirements we can not label our haggis as gluten-free haggis. However, the oatmeal we use in all our haggis is gluten-free and has been since January 2020.

This is a perishable food. All orders with perishable foods will include a single flat rate shipping fee of $5 in addition to the normal shipping charges.
If you are ordering perishable foods, or a combination of perishable and non-perishable products, our shipping charges are based on the value of your order and the type of products you are ordering. Please use the Shipping Costs section of the shopping cart to get the correct value for shipping. If you in the Blue states we can reach within two days via UPS Ground, you can use regular ground shipping at $17 on orders less than $150. If you live in the Orange states, you must use UPS 2nd Day Air at $45 on orders less than $150.

ALASKA & HAWAII: All orders containing perishable items shipping to Alaska and Hawaii must use UPS 2nd day air at $85 on orders less than $150.

Shipping Policy: We ship via UPS within the 48 continental states. Our goal is to get your package delivered in the right time at the lowest possible cost to you. We normally ship your order within one business day of your order.

Orders placed after 2PM EST will ship the next perishable shipping day. Perishable cheese, smoked fish, haggis and meats are only shipped on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday via Second Day Air or Two Day Ground Shipping.

Finally! Good haggis in the USA

I used to bring it in from Canada when I lived near the border. But this haggis is sure to please even those of us who've had it in Scotland. There is one ingredient that can't be used here in the US but I don't notice it missing. I buy the 5 lb log and slice it up and vacuum freeze it. Great haggis any time you want it.

The haggis went over well for our Robert Burns night for all who sampled it. The only negative I heard was, "it has a bit too much pepper in it." As for me, it was just fine.

Most people look on haggis as the centerpiece for a special ceremonial dinner: Burns Night, St. Andrew's Day, Hogmanay, etc. But since discovering Scottish Gourmet our family eats haggis for breakfast. Most days. It's been a revelation! We buy the 5lb haggis, slice it up, then freeze the sections - myself and my kids go through about a pound of haggis per week, mainly crumbled up and fried, along with eggs and some black pudding. There's really no better start to the day!

This haggis is as good as any you'll find in Scotland. In fact, I had one in Scotland last week from the Queen's butcher in Ballater (near Balmoral) and and this one last night, and I'd be hard pressed to tell the difference. Even better, few people at my gathering had ever had haggis before and many were skeptical, but everyone loved it!

It was fantastic. Made it for my Burns Supper last night and it tasted fantastic, everyone really liked it. It tasted just like the one we purchased at a little store in the Highlands and took back to my cousins and ate. We be buying it again. This Haggis was used for our Burns Dinner. As I started to give the address, I had to stop and look at it. It was every thing the poem was about. "What A Glories Sight, Warm Steaming Rich. The Haggis Looked and smelled the part. Many were prepared for some snarly tasting stuff. Not this the last was right and washed down smooth with the scotch. There was none left out of thirty people. Others may say it did not fit their bilofair, filled with all the meat byproducts stuff. This Haggis mad all us happy and the Grace Was Hummed....

Not satisfied with your haggis this year! We asked advice when we received it's it didn't look right. We cooked and we served it but if looked Grey and no Difference in colors and it didn't taste as good as the one we bought the year before. We are Scottish and only moved to the US a year ago. So we have a good idea how haggis should look and taste!
