Made for us in Nova Scotia in kiln-fired terracotta you'll find dozens of ways to use this cookie stamp. Of course, there is shortbread to be made, and this stamp comes with a recipe for just that. But I could see butter pats embossed with this large thistle head,or use with fondant to top your cupcakes. You can also use this stamp for many other soft foods like salmon mousse rounds! This 2.75" round stamp has a 1.5" glazed handle on the back so you can hold it firmly as you press the cookies.

Recipe that comes with the stamp is delicious - cream together 1 cup butter and 1/2 cup confectioners sugar(icing sugar) then add 1 1/2 cups flour, 1/2 cup corn starch a teaspoon of lemon extract and a teaspoon of almond extract (or substitute a 1/4 teaspoon of ground ginger instead of the extracts. kneed the dough on a flat surface until all cracks have disappeared- roll into 1 1/2" balls and place them 2 inches apart on a cookie sheet. Dust the cookie stamp in a saucer of flour and then press the cookie dough ball leaving a clear impression. Be sure to coat your stamp with flour to get a clear release from the dough. Bake at 325 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Recipe makes approximately 24 beautiful cookies.
